Do you require a lease?

Yes, all tenants are required to sign a lease. Typically, leases are for a one year period, but under certain circumstances, shorter leases can be arranged.  August and May are my preferred lease end dates. Month-to-month leases are not offered.


Who lives in the houses?

The houses are primarily occupied by students and young professionals.


Do you allow pets?

Pets are not allowed, although an exception has been granted for the occasional goldfish.


Do you allow smoking?

Smoking indoors in the houses is prohibited and renting to non-smokers is preferred.


Are there house rules?

The only rules are: 1) Pay your rent in full and on time, 2) Treat your housemates with respect, 3) Treat the property with respect and 4) Clean up after yourself.  Beyond that, each shared house community has the ability to define its own policies, rules and regulations.


What is provided and what do I need to bring?

All rooms and common areas are fully furnished.  All you need to bring is yourself, your linens and your personal effects. 


How are utilities figured?

A flat monthly utility rate based on actual average utility cost is charged to each tenant.


Is meal preparation done individually or communally?

Traditionally, people have been responsible for their own meals and on occasion will choose to share a meal.  One house holds regular Sunday house dinners. It’s up to each house group to decide how they want to handle meal preparation.
